By The Tides in the town of Pondicherry
Flavia and Deepak, a radiant couple hailing from the vibrant state of Tamil Nadu, chose to begin their forever, opting to a beautiful wedding in Pondicherry. With its sun-doused streets, colonial elegance, and the gentle hum of the sea in the background, Pondicherry was the perfect setting for their dream wedding. They invited us to be a part of this joyous occasion to do their wedding photography, and it was truly an honour to witness and capture such a heartfelt celebration with some engaging candid photography.

The engagement
The engagement ceremony was nothing short of a grand celebration; a glorious affair brimming with joy, colour, and heartfelt warmth. From the moment guests arrived, there was a sense of magic in the air, like they all knew they were about to witness the beginning of a truly special journey. It was big, vibrant, and welcomed everyone, just like the couple themselves.
Friends, family, and well-wishers gathered under twinkling lights and fragrant garlands, their hearts beaming as they lined up to bless the young couple. One by one, they stepped onto the beautifully adorned platform, offering hugs, smiles, and words soaked in love and wishes. The atmosphere pulsed with laughter, music, and the sweet energy of new beginnings.
Flavia’s look for engagement was her radiant pattu sari, the rich silk hugging her like tradition and elegance all at once. Her jewellery glimmered, but it was the blush in her cheeks that stole the show. Deepak stood beside her, sharp and dashing in a classic tuxedo, but his soft smile gave him away.

The wedding
Their wedding was an amalgamation of tradition and love; a Tamil Christian wedding rooted in rich heritage, faith, and the affection of close-knit families. The church, adorned with elegant white blooms and soft hues, stood as a quiet witness to their vows.
Flavia looked nothing short of celestial as she walked down the aisle, dressed in the most ethereal white gown that shimmered with every step she took. The delicate lacework, the soft train flowing like a whispered promise, and that quiet confidence in her eyes with her flowing hair made her a vision of grace and strength. Beside her, like a garden, stood her ten stunning bridesmaids, each dressed in a rich, deep magenta gown that brought warmth and vibrance to the ceremony. The contrast was outstanding, soft whites against bold hues.
Coming to Deepak, who was dressed in a velvet suit tailored smartly. But the only thing on his mind, clearly, was her. He couldn’t take his eyes off his bride, and frankly, he wasn’t to blame. With every glance he stole, we could see the silent smile, that oh-so-tender awe. As she moved closer, his posture softened, like every brick of guarded masculinity just crumbled at the sight of her.
Even amidst the rituals and prayers, their eyes kept finding one another, quietly exchanging smiles, giggles, and that unmistakable glimmer of anticipation. It was as if the world had decided to turn black and white, with just the couple standing out in colour.
Every passing moment brought them closer to becoming husband and wife, and their excitement was impossible to miss. We could see it in the way Deepak’s fingers twitched slightly, or the way Flavia’s eyes sparkled nervously.
And then, the moment arrived. As the sacred mangalsutra was gently tied around Flavia’s neck, sealing their bond in tradition and love, the church erupted. Applause burst through the air like a wave, sweeping everyone up in celebration. Cheers, whistles, teary eyes, wide grins; every single soul in that church was utterly overjoyed for the couple.
What made the Tamil Christian wedding unforgettable wasn’t just the rituals or the setting, but the energy. Laughter echoed through the corridors, elders offered blessings with misty eyes, and friends danced with abandon under the soft golden light of Pondicherry’s evening sky.
