A wedding in Washington works around a city that has its own schedule. Motorcades close streets with no notice, the monuments empty out at different hours depending on the season, and a Saturday in April is not the same city as a Saturday in August. We plan the day around that instead of hoping for a clear run. You get married, and we work out the rest.

DC’s Indian community speaks many languages, and we’ve learned the rhythm of each one.
Telugu Weddings
The muhurtham is usually before sunrise, which means we are on site at three. Jeelakarra bellam, the talambralu and the kanyadaanam, with the snathakam the evening before.
North Indian Weddings
We know the baraat’s energy, the emotions of a sindoor daan, and the weight of the saat phere.
Tamil Weddings
Whether its the seriousness of the vratham, or the relief of the Nalangu, we know exactly what demands silence, and what deserves a captured laugh.
Punjabi & Sikh Weddings
The baraat coming up the drive, the milni at the door where both sides finally meet. For an anand karaj we know how the four laavan run, and when to stay still.
Muslim Weddings
Quiet mornings with solemn vows, and elaborate, welcoming walimas, we know the flow.

The ponkhana at the entrance, then the hasta melap when the two families’ hands come together. The small moments, and the ones families ask us for afterwards.
Roka and thaka come months before any of this, and the mehendi, haldi and sangeet in the days before. We cover those too, and they are often where the best photographs of the week come from.

Each NPS location is its own application, with its own fee and a four day minimum notice, and none of it can be filed by email. This is the only reason we push you on dates early.

Virginia is across the bridge, not down the road. Arlington and Alexandria are closer to a Washington hotel than some Washington venues are to each other, and we cover the whole Commonwealth from Tysons down to Richmond. If your venue is on that side, see our wedding photography across Virginia.

Cities We Fly To
- Virginia : Across the bridge and down to Richmond, and we’ve shot there. Worth a look if your families are split between the
- New Jersey : Three and a half hours up I-95. A lot of Washington DC couples have half a guest list in Edison or Jersey City.
- New York : Four hours up the same road, and the city is a favourite for pre-wedding shoots.
