From the Roka to the First Birthday
We photograph and film luxury Indian and South Asian weddings across India and the USA. Three or four days, two or three venues, and a film at the end. The wedding is the centre of it, but a lot of families come back for what comes before and after.
The Wedding Itself
Three days, several venues, one film at the end.
Photography and Film, Together
Every event from the haldi to the last dance, shot by one team. The photographer and the cinematographer are not competing for the same spot during the varmala.
Cinematic Films
A full film, short cuts for sharing, and a same-day edit if you want the teaser playing at the reception.
Multi-Day Coverage
A lead photographer, an associate, a film team and a second shooter. Built for four functions across two or three venues.
The Year Before
Everything that leads up to it.
Pre-Wedding Shoots
On location, at home, or somewhere you have wanted to go for years. We handle the permits where a location needs one, which in most cities it does.
Engagement and Roka
The ring, and the afternoon where both families properly meet.
Half Saree Function
Langa Voni. We know the order it runs in and where the family will want to be standing.
The Years After
You can ask for the same photographer each time. One of these we only offer in the USA.
Maternity Shoots (India & USA)
Most couples book between twenty-eight and thirty-four weeks, when the bump photographs well and standing for an hour is still comfortable.
We shoot these at home more often than anywhere else, because the light is familiar and nobody is self-conscious in their own living room. Outdoors works when the weather holds. One or two outfit changes is plenty; the couples who plan four usually use two.
Gender Reveal Shoots (USA only)
A single frame a family keeps for twenty years, and the thirty seconds before it that are the real photograph.
We cover these for our clients in the USA. Indian law does not permit sex determination or its disclosure, so we do not offer gender reveal shoots in India.
Cradle Ceremony and Newborn
Barasala, the naming, and the first few weeks at home.
Newborn sessions work best inside the first two weeks, while a baby still curls. The cradle ceremony is a separate event with its own guest list, and families often want both covered on the same trip. We bring the quieter setup for these: no flash near the baby, nobody crowding the room.
Anniversary Shoots
The first one, the tenth, the fiftieth.
Often the same couple a decade on, sometimes with people in the frame who were not there the first time. The fiftieth is usually the one with the most family in it, and worth planning like a small wedding rather than a portrait session.
Everything Else
We shoot these too.
Events and Corporate
Conferences, galas and company celebrations.
Birthdays and Parties
First birthdays, and the ones nobody admits the number of.

What A Story exists because we genuinely believe every wedding deserves to be captured with real heart and real artistry. The big moments. The tiny details. The happy tears. The dance floor chaos. All of it.
