Indian Wedding Photographers & Filmmakers in Austin
Every wedding in the Capital City deserves a story worth replaying. We have photographed and filmed South Asian weddings for over ten years, and we plan each Austin wedding around what this city actually asks for: the heat, the permits, and the drive out to the Hill Country.

Keep Austin Dancing, We’ll Keep the Memories
Dance like nobody’s watching, because that is how you get your best pictures. We’ll catch an uncle’s dance moves, your mother fixing your saree once again, and you fixing your eyes on someone from across the hall. Austin loves to keep things happy, and we love to look at your happiest faces.
South Asian Wedding Photographers
A great Indian wedding team does two things well. We capture who you are as a couple, and we are familiar with every tradition you bring to us. Over a thousand weddings in, we know when to move in close and when to give you some space. If you have been looking for a South Asian wedding photographer who can handle a big, loud, joyful celebration, or a quiet morning ceremony, we do both.
Candid Wedding Photography
Candid photography in Austin works best when you forget we are in the room. We stay out of the way, so your photos look the way the day felt. Have a look at our recent Austin work.
Cinematic Wedding Films
Your wedding film should feel a little like a movie: conversation, colour, and the parts of the day you were too busy to watch. We shoot in 4K at every event you book, and edit to match your taste.
A same-day edit is available as an add-on, so your teaser can play at the reception while the night is still going.
Indian and South Asian Wedding Traditions
Austin is home to a large and growing Indian community. These are the ones we shoot most often.
Telugu Weddings
The pellikuthuru and the pellikoduku, the late night buzz, all of it familiar enough that nothing goes missing. We’ll help you spot Arundhati too, if you need that.
Gujarati Weddings
From the bright, playful mess of a pithi to the groom’s welcome by ponkhvu, we’ve been there, we’ve seen it all, and we know where the best smiles are hiding.
Muslim Weddings
A traditional nikah and a lively walima. We’re there for both, and we know where the fun comes in.
Punjabi and Sikh Weddings
From the roka to the milni, and the anand karaj itself. We know the order, and we know when to step back.
Christian Weddings
The church ceremony, the reception after, and whatever both sides bring to the middle of it.
Multi-cultural/Fusion Weddings
Two families, two sets of customs, and one running order that has to work for everyone. These are some of our favourite weddings to shoot.
We’ll build the coverage plan around your ceremony.
Austin Wedding Venues
Many Austin weddings split across two places: the ceremony at the Austin Hindu Temple & Community Center, then the reception somewhere that can hold everyone.
These four take Indian weddings regularly, and each one handles a different kind of day.

Love Notes From Our Couples
Our photos look like the two of us on our best day ever, and our parents still love talking about them. We’ve loved hearing all these things, and it’s basically been because of What A Story team’s effort

Harini & Sai
Some of our events were really running late. But the team really did resolve to stay until the end. That willingness to go the extra mile for us is something we’ll never forget, because the team ended up doing some of their best work during this time.

They understood our rituals so well! We thought we would have to sit them through everything, but 10 years of experience is no joke. They understood every single thing, and where to place themselves without interruptions or problems caused to anyone. Loved how knowledgeable and respectable they were.
